Teaching...
I remember when 10:00 wasn't the time I was thinking about getting into bed... But... I'm a teacher now. I get up at 5:30...
Actually, i love teaching. Although I wish it happened a little later in the day, things are going really well at school and I feel like I'm actually doing something with my life for a change. Its a really nice feeling... Its kind of consuming every trace of a social life that I thought that I had, but on the other hand, its going really fast. I'm almost done with my 2nd week.
Thats about it for now because not a whol elot is happening, and my brain is tired... I'll write more when I can think of what to write

The State of the Union
To summarize:
try to justify war
(Applause)
Terrorist, terrorist, terrorist
(Applause)
Pretend economy is getting better
(Wild applause from Republican side)
We have to give back rights to citizens we took away in the patriot act
(Applause from left)
So lets vote to keep them from having those ritghts
(Applause from right)
Don't be gay
(applause from Right and 2 on left)
In conclusion
terrorism, terrorism, terrorism, hate gay people, god bless Te... I mean, the United States
(Smirk from Bush)
(wild applause)
I was left wondering after the speech if he is really stupid enough to say things, especially about the economy, that completely aren't true. Sure we've gained a few jobs... leaving out the fact that we've lost 3 million over seas. AND, we want to bring in Mexicans to take jobs that "Americans are unable to fill" meaning, they can legally pay Mexicans less than it costs to live in the united states, and give the corporations who do that tax breaks. Education was a joke. No Child Left Behind, as I have WITNESSED PERSONALLY doesn't help in the classroom. It means no child is left UNTESTED. They pour plenty of money into unrealistic standardized testing and not into programs that will actually help children. Putting a multiple choice test in front of a chimpanzee probably won't do a lot of good. Nor will it help a student who can't read.
Bush, to me, is like the rich kid playing with daddy's toys while he is away.
Please, God, find an adult to be the president for a change before things get worse!

Confusion...
So, my first week of teaching is done! It looks like its going to be a busy semester, but I'm enjoying being out in school doing something I really like to do. This week we're doing curriculum planning for a few days, so that will be a nice little break from the daily routine. I have yet to really talk to my university supervisor, but I'll get around to it one of these days....
I'm a year older than I was last time I posted... I don't feel a whole lot different about that, but I do feel a lot more grown up with the transition to student teaching. I dress like a grown-up, keep the same hours as a grown-up, and act like a grown up. Its a nice change I guess... its so different to be going to bed at 10 and getting up at 5:30. I don't like mornings, but I actually feel like I'm doing something important for a change.
As for a social life, I won't have much time for that... I'll have a lot of computer time though! I did go out for my birthday on Fr4iday night. Emilee, John, Jodie, and Anthony and I went down to Vice Versa for the Miss Vice Versa show. It was a great time for all of us. Anthony was so cute ;) *waves politely* John and I had a conversation about the unattractiveness of jealousy... Of course I used a metaphor... something about a tree... hopefully he got what I was laying down...
Oh well, same ol other than that... Running aorund like a chicken with my head cut off... but at least I'm an attractive and organized chicken!
I got some calls this week that made me awfully confused about some things in my life. I just don't know. Its nice to be independent, especially with me being too busy to date anyone, but I do miss him. Cedar Point might be harder than I thought....
I'll leave that rambling for the pvt section... I'm just kinda confused, but I plan to take as much time as I need to get my feelings in order before I try again.
Until next time...
Rob
